Summary of Family Day Extravaganza 2018

At Bereaved Families, we support children as young as 4 years old, teens and adults. Therefore, we thought it would be a great idea to have a special day dedicated to FAMILIES. What more appropriate day than FAMILY DAY.
Our first Family Day Extravaganza far exceeded the organizing committee’s expectations. It was heartwarming to see so many families enjoying a special day of activities, socialising and sharing food together.
Grandparents, parents, children, uncles and aunts were seen painting, drawing, creating balloon animals, having their faces painted with creative designs, creating origami animals, decorating cupcakes, playing Picture Bingo, dressing up to have a cup of tea with Miss Liz at the Tea Party table, challenging each other at the Bean Bag Toss or at the WII Game.
We thank our visitors who spent their precious time with us…
The Cornwall Police Service (Constable Dan Cloutier, Constable Andrew Arbic and Dispatcher Mylène Lacroix)
Carefor’s Camp Erin (Grief Support Camp) representative, Nancy Galway
Carol Sauve of Carol Sauve Photography for capturing some truly precious moments on film
Our sincere gratitude to our sponsors…
Your TV Cornwall for sponsoring our SNACK ZONE and Gabriel Riviere-Reid for attending and capturing the event on film.
Boston Pizza Cornwall for sponsoring the PIZZA served for lunch and 75 “Individual Pizza” certificates.
This event was certainly enhanced by all donors of prizes suited to “Family activities”. Winners of all the prizes were delighted to have another opportunity to spend some family time together at a later date.
We are also privileged to have a second home at Knox-St. Paul’s United Church when our office cannot accommodate the number of people expected for our groups, training sessions, memorial events and activities. Thanks to all of you for accommodating us so often throughout the year.
Last, but certainly not least, a huge accolade goes out to the members of the Fundraising Committee for the time spent in planning, organising, setting up, manning the stations and being so genuinely excited about the event. And special thanks to the “student volunteers” and a “dad” who added such a delightful touch to our event.
See you at our 2nd Annual Family Day Extravaganza in February 2019.
